Simultaneously with the fourth phase of the vaccination plan to create a green corridor for all those who wish to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This was ordered by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov at today’s working meeting, which he convened with representatives of the National Operational Headquarters, the vaccination headquarters and the Minister of Health, the government press service said.
The Prime Minister insisted that, first of all, it is important that all doctors willing to receive the vaccine are vaccinated. At the same time, once the conditions for vaccination for both the second and third phases have been created, it should be possible for all other people waiting to be vaccinated.
How will the vaccination plan continue in our country?
“You go to the regions of the country to observe the process in person and open green corridors for those who want to get vaccinated. Thus, the percentage of vaccinated will increase a lot, we will have an even greater shield against the pandemic and there will be no need for additional closures or restrictions, as there are in other countries ”, said the Prime Minister.
Health Minister Kostadin Angelov reports that as of February 18, a total of 25,441 were vaccinated with the second vaccine and a total of 90,514 were vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine.
The executive director of the Executive Agency for Medicines, Bogdan Kirilov, said that a delivery of 57,600 doses of the Oxford vaccine is expected at the end of today, and an organization has been created to distribute these quantities to the 28 RHIs of the country tomorrow the morning. .
“Next week we expect another 180,000 doses of the three vaccines approved for use. The information we have for the month of March from the manufacturers and the European Commission is at least 500,000 doses, which allows us to launch the fourth phase of the National Vaccination Plan, ”Kirilov reported.
Ministry of Health with recommendations for vaccines against COVID-19
He added that the European Medicines Agency has started the final stage of evaluating the documentation of the expected fourth vaccine, the Johnson and Johnson company. “Additional information was provided to medical specialists, as well as expert opinions in all specialties, so that all medical specialists who administer vaccines can be assured of official information related to the three vaccines,” added Bogdan Kirilov.
During the working meeting, the Chief State Health Inspector and member of NOCHE, Associate Prof. Angel Kunchev, reported on a decrease in mortality in the country.
“This shows that fears that the British version of the virus is more serious are not yet justified,” Kunchev said, adding: “We can expect the circulation of this new version to continue with a slight increase in morbidity, but it is at this rate it does not represent a threat to the health system. “
NOC President Ventsislav Mutafchiiski also noted the decline in the country’s death rate. According to him, this is the result of both the accumulated experience of medical teams in the treatment of COVID-19 and the reduction of pressure on health facilities. “It is possible that all patients admitted, even in serious condition, receive adequate care. This is the important thing,” was categorical Mutafchiiski.
