This was stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held by videoconference, the government information service announced.
Prime Minister Borissov insisted that the government would continue to support Bulgarian citizens affected by the pandemic, as well as the most vulnerable groups.
Regarding measure 60/40, Prime Minister Borissov pointed out that the state allocates huge financial resources for its implementation.
“Today we are allocating 300 million BGN from the budget for 2021 to extend the measure 60/40 until March, which will save 180,000 jobs. And with another 300 million BGN, we guarantee the implementation of the support by September,” said the first Minister Borissov.
So far, more than BGN 627 million have been paid under the measure and 250,000 jobs have been preserved.
The government has also decided to extend until March 31, 2021 the deadline for the payment of compensation to maintain employment in the amount of 290 BGN per month to employees, self-employed in the sectors “Transport”, “Hotels and restaurants” and “Tourism . “.
“Applicants eligible for the measure are employers from the urban and passenger transport sectors, passenger land transport, hotels, restaurants. The self-employed with activity in the same sectors, as well as the self-employed, and the self-employed have the right to be supported in this line ”, affirmed the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Denitsa Sacheva.
So far, BGN 43 million have been paid under the measure and some 30,000 jobs have been preserved. Another 40 million BGN has been foreseen for its extension until the end of March, which will be allocated by the Operational Program “Human Resources Development”.
“This means that a total of BGN 83 million will be delivered,” the prime minister stressed.
Prime Minister Borissov also highlighted the importance of measure 75/0 for closed companies.
“Workers in companies closed from January 1 to 31 will receive compensation equal to 75% of their insurance income. This is more than the previous 24 BGN we give and is for employees in an 8-hour workday. In practice, the measure means that employers owe nothing and their workers receive 75% of their income, “said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
So far, the applicants for the measure are more than 5,000 employers for 23,000 workers, costing the state 11 million BGN.
