One of Bulgaria’s best television journalists, Adelina Radeva, turned out to be grossly misled by BNT. In the spring, he quit his high-paying job on the Nova TV morning block to return to BNT, where he spent most of his career. He said he had been made an “offer that he could not refuse” but that since then he has only worked as a substitute. Her latest position is as host of “Around the World and in Bulgaria” instead of her pregnant colleague Filipa Ognyanova, writes Flagman.
Adelina Radeva took over from Filipa Ognyanova on Tuesday night. She is now officially an on-screen partner of Spas Kyosev, with whom she hosts BNT’s core news program. But the former host of “Hello, Bulgaria” did not negotiate that position, say people familiar with the matter. As Weekend wrote some time ago, she was invited to state media with the promise of something much bigger, which was supposed to be announced in September. This was officially said by Adelina on Georgi Lyubenov’s show days after it became clear that she would be moving from Nova to BNT. Both September and October are history, but until today it has not been clear exactly what Adelina was promised to give up her high salary and good ratings on private television and go on to public television. Certainly, this was not Filipa Ognyanova’s position when she became pregnant.
According to rumors, Adelina was supposed to occupy a place in the management of television. There are several vacancies in it that have never been filled. But for reasons unknown to the general public, Viktor Nikolaev’s former partner at Nova has been a regular journalist at BNT for months. At the beginning she joined the team of “From the day” along with the other two presenters: Nadia Obretenova and Poli Zlatareva. When Georgi Lyubenov contracted a coronavirus, he replaced him on the Saturday-Sunday morning block, and now he replaces his colleague Filipa. When will he occupy the place he returned to BNT for, and if he will, no one seems to even ask. It is clear that the television presenter was deceived with naked promises that were only in words.
As for Filipa Ognyanova, she married BNT program director Ivaylo Ognyanov in late September, and is now in the hospital due to a pregnancy. She became the host of “Around the World and in Bulgaria” after television legend Radina Chervenova was diagnosed with cancer and stopped going to work. Filipa took her place as a screenmate of host Spas Kyosev. Now Adelina Radeva will be sitting next to him, Weekend wrote.
