Microsoft founder Bill Gates predicts a new pandemic for humanity. The billionaire recorded a podcast with actress Rashida Jones and America’s leading infectious disease specialist Anthony Fauci, in which they discussed the coronavirus pandemic and the changes brought about by COVID-19. During the conversation, Jones asked him if a new pandemic really threatened humanity.
“Yeah. And we’ll be lucky if that happens in twenty years,” Gates said. However, according to him, there is a scenario in which this could happen much earlier, in three years.
However, as Microsoft’s founder pointed out, next time humanity will be “better prepared” for a pandemic. According to him, by then, well-developed algorithms will appear, according to which quarantine will be introduced and systems for testing possible carriers of the infection will be improved.
“Next time we won’t be so stupid,” he concluded.
Earlier, Gates warned that the situation with the coronavirus could get complicated in the winter. According to him, in the cold season people spend more time indoors, get tired of taking precautions, and the virus can multiply more actively. The billionaire linked the weakening of the infection to an increase in vaccine production; then, as Gates points out, humanity will see “the light at the end of the tunnel.”
