Youth and Sports Minister Krasen Kralev approved a list of elite Bulgarian athletes included in the Olympic training program, which will begin training at the country’s national sports bases on May 13. This was possible after the Ministry of Health approved today the plan proposed by the IMC for the measures taken, in view of the epidemic situation in the country related to the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, announced the press center of the Ministry of Sports.

The Belmeken Alpine Base will be available to our national wrestling, boxing, swimming, judo and karate teams, along with their coaches and team officials.
The “Sports Palace” in Varna will be used by individual athletes in rhythmic gymnastics and teams in weightlifting, fencing, Olympic taekwondo and badminton. The Rakovski complex in Sofia will accommodate the girls of the national rhythmic gymnastics ensemble and gymnastics athletes, and the rowing bases in Kardzhali and Pchelina will host the national canoe-kayak and rowing teams.
All anti-epidemic measures will be taken in sports centers and access by outsiders will be prohibited. Team representatives and base personnel will be screened for the COVID-19 coronavirus before training camps begin.
On Monday, the Ministry of Health is expected to approve the plan for the renewal of the football championship in Bulgaria, proposed by the IMC and developed by the Bulgarian Football Union.
