Biden tripped three times and fell down the stairs.

US President Joe Biden tripped three times while climbing the stairs of a government Air Force One plane to fly to Atlanta, eventually falling, world news agencies reported Friday.

The head of state climbed the ladder rather quickly, and the footage shows that twice he missed a full foot step and staggered, and on the third he fell to one knee and barely grabbed onto the metal railing.

However, he quickly got to his feet, rubbed his knee, then continued to climb at a slower pace, and at the top of the ladder he stopped, turned and gave a cheery salute, trumpeting, according to Reuters.

Shortly after, the plane took off from Andrews Military Base outside of Washington.

White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said the president was doing well and suggested that the reason for his astonishment could be the strong wind in the base area. It did not say whether Biden had been examined by the doctor accompanying him on the trip.

The 78-year-old Biden became the oldest man to take the presidency when he entered the White House on January 20.

The president will spend the day in Atlanta, where he will meet with Americans of Asian descent. This community is in shock after a series of shootings at massage parlors.
