Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has led in four of the five contested states, which determine who will enter the White House.

The counting continues there, but if official data confirms his victory there, it will take him another 53 votes from Electoral College members to the current 253, which is well above the 270 threshold needed to declare him the winner nationwide.

According to the US media, President Donald Trump, who has 214 voters, has no intention of admitting defeat. There are reasons to do so, as the difference in one of the states in question, although increasing, is only around 1,000 votes.

In recent hours, Biden has added Pennsylvania to Georgia, Nevada and Arizona, while forecasts for North Carolina and Alaska continue to point to them as a victory for President Donald Trump.

IN Pennsylvania Biden’s lead on about 95% of the votes counted is almost 5,600 votes (just before 5pm Bulgarian time). That’s roughly one-tenth of a percent, but the state provides 20 voters, and only those are enough to get Democrats back to having a president.

IN Georgiawhere the change occurred today, Biden leads with just 1,097 votes. With 98% of the votes counted, this is not even in the tenths of a percent and the two main candidates have 49.5% support each.

Arizona was placed among the “blue” states, supported by Democrats, as early as Wednesday night, including by Fox News, but most other outlets are in no rush to make such an assessment. The reason is that about 90% of the votes cast are counted. Biden’s lead here is over 47,000 votes and the main credit goes to two constituencies with the large cities of Phoenix and Tucson.

IN Nevada With an advantage of about 11,400 votes, Biden leads by less than one percentage point, and about 11% of the ballots have yet to be counted.

It is enough for the former vice president to win in two of the last 3 states to return to the White House.

If the trend does not change, Trump will have two victories in the United States, but with a total of only 18 voters. The road to his second term is still possible, but difficult: He must win Pennsylvania and Georgia, in addition to Nevada or Arizona.

  • Georgia, which voted Democrats, would be great news in American politics, because such a thing has not happened since the 1992 election when Bill Clinton became president. At the moment, the prospects of this happening are increasing as thousands of ballots continue to be processed from places where Democrats are strong, such as the capital Atlanta. But state officials have yet to add votes from the military and those living and working abroad, as well as voters who had trouble registering or identity documents on Election Day, Nov. 3, to the results.

Trump’s staff has said he will appeal the results in all the disputed states, and last night the president said he was heading to the electoral steal of his victory. His press conference has been criticized by the US media, including by Republican supporters, for being full of unproven accusations and outright lies. Some television channels even interrupted their live broadcast, which is something very rare with the appearance of a president of the United States, especially at a delicate moment for the country like the current one.
