Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 1-0 away from home in the derby on Matchday 27 of the Bundesliga. Thus, in practice, the Bavarians rejected their rival to fight for the title. The team shot with 7 points at the top and hardly anyone takes for granted that first place can be lost in the remaining seven rounds to the end. All three points for Hansi Flick’s team were contributed by Leon Gorecka with a goal in the 38th minute following Thomas Mueller’s 25th assist for the season.
The game started with a 3-minute delay due to a rather curious situation: a hole in the net at one of the gates. The Bayern guard tied her with his towel, but the referees insisted that this would not start the match. In the end he came out serving the stadium and replaced the towel with … a pig’s tail. This was approved by the refereeing team and the match started.
Both teams entered the game cautiously and the goalkeepers got bored in the first quarter of an hour. It was only in the 15th minute that Bayern upset the hosts, as Upomaceno and then goalkeeper Gulaci succumbed to pressure but no goals were scored. Four minutes later, Zabitzer found a ball poorly cleared by an invited defender on the edge of the penalty area. However, its loud blow passed through Neuer’s door.
In the 23rd minute, Koman’s good attack ended with a shot that was blocked by a Leipzig defender. A shot from his partner Chupo-Motting followed, missing the outline of the door.
The Bavarians scored in the 38th minute. Thomas Mueller came up from the depths and was met with a long pass to the right of the home team’s gate. The veteran returned the ball to striker Leon Goretska, who opened the scoring with a relentless blow – 0: 1.

Two minutes before the break, Leroy Sane could have doubled after elegantly dominating the ball and sending it into goal from the air, but Gulachi scored on a corner. Chupo-Motting took advantage of the rear strike, but fired straight into the hands of a Leipzig shooting guard.
The second half started with a more active game by the locals and in the first five minutes the result was equalized. First, a rebound helped Nkunku make a shot that went through the door. Seconds later Zabitzer with an attractive side kick missed the target. However, Danny Olmo blew the cleaner situation in the 52nd minute. After a multi-pass attack, he had a great opportunity to shoot from the penalty area, but his crosshairs betrayed him.
In the 56th minute, Leipzig finally hit a well-aimed shot through Marcel Zabitzer, who, however, did not obstruct Manuel Neuer. He fired again three minutes later and this time blocked the Bayern guard, who nevertheless killed the ball by going under the bar. The hosts kept pushing, but it was getting harder and harder to get to the final blow.

After the 70th minute the match tied and shortly after Thomas Mueller was able to put an end to the dispute. The veteran went off defense marvelously and fired a diagonal shot that went past Gulachi’s right crossbar.
