A scene like an action movie took place between drivers on Maritsa Blvd. in Plovdiv, Maritsa reports. There was tension and a physical collision, even a pistol hit.
The ugly action took place on June 4. At around 6 p.m., a Plovdiv resident was driving his car on Maritsa Blvd. when he stopped near the river bridge to make way for a woman crossing the street.
His action obviously annoyed the other drivers, who gathered behind him in a column and began honking their horns angrily. The woman crossed and the man from the village under her hills continued to their final destination: a store on Yanko Sakazov Street.
Just seconds later, a powerful car blocked his path and several children got out of it, ready for self-mutilation.
They began to demand an account of why he had yielded to a pedestrian, who had stopped, insulted and threatened them.
Tensions mounted and to get rid of them, the shocked Plovdiv resident pulled out his legally owned Glock-19 pistol, waved it in the air, and the attackers evaporated in fear. He didn’t even have to shoot.
However, the driver was prosecuted and fined BGN 500 under the Arms, Ammunition, Explosives and Pyrotechnic Articles Act.
He appealed and a few days ago the Plovdiv district court magistrates annulled him, because according to them his behavior was generally not dangerous and was the result of an unavoidable defense.
