The reason is a software problem, which according to REC is very likely to affect other machines. For the 22 municipalities of the Sofia district, the machines are located in 269 stationary sections.
The district electoral commission has submitted a proposal to suspend machine voting, pending the final decision of the CEC.
The CEC did not receive a report of problems with automatic voting in one of the Sofia DECs, announced at a CEC briefing, BTA reported.
“There is a procedure outlined in our decisions, in case of termination of the voting of the machine and obtaining an advance protocol, the voting must continue with a paper ballot. The machine can be switched off due to external circumstances or at the request of the PEC. members if there is no power or other problem, however, this does not mean that the votes cast before this moment are not counted, “explained Dimitrov.
