There is no second wave of COVID-19 and what has been happening in recent weeks is the natural course of the epidemic. In the summer there was a sharp reduction in cases, as the disease is not very fatal. This opinion is shared by the infectious disease specialist Assoc. Prof. Atanas Mangarov.

“The coronaviruses in 2003 and 2012 were much more deadly. With this COVID-19 so far, the mortality is around 0.3%, quite low. During the cold months we observe a natural course of the epidemic. It will last until the 70% of people get this virus. 30-40% of the population is currently infected. “In about 2-3 months, the entire population should have found the virus,” he explained.

The pole-provoking specialist told Bulgaria ON AIR that 80% of COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic. Only about 20 percent of the cases were symptomatic and only 2-3% of them required hospital treatment.

There is no definitive treatment for COVID-19. Azithromycin is prescribed to anyone who calls and says they are positive. I don’t understand why this is done. This should be reported to people and doctors. Covid is an acute viral infection that is too long-lasting. The acute phase is 13 to 15 days. Antibiotics don’t help! Associate Prof. Mangarov: Hospitals are full of fear that GPs will stop using telephone medicine

Associate Professor Atanas Mangarov believes that unnecessary tension is building up, leading to the fact that hospitals are overcrowded and on the verge of being blocked. And he believes that most of those infected should be treated at home, not in hospitals.

Everyone goes to the hospital because there is no one to care for him at home. When someone has symptoms and calls their GP, they say: Go and get tested. When this person is positive, they are quarantined at home. If your personal physician examines you, finds you in contact, and goes into the spiral, this is absurd. GPs must follow all precautions. Not everyone can enter hospitals and close plants just because of Kovid-19. The vast majority of these people can be treated at home. The GP can also go to the homes, explained the infectious disease specialist.

Prof. Asoc. Mangarov: The best thing is that the country does not close

“It’s okay for these people to go see their GP. They were contagious 3-4 days before symptoms appeared. They do tests 1-2 days later. These people walk for 5-6 days and then we close them, like if nothing had happened by then. These measures are absurd, ” Associate Professor Mangarov is adamant.

According to him, the system is very busy, but a way must be found so that the seriously ill can receive help.

The ways we try to combat this airborne infection are unrealistic. We can close in a month or two or three, but the moment we open, we will see that everything will start again. Doctors must return to normal medication. They are afraid, they are afraid. In that case, what do we do? Does everyone abdicate and the world dies? He believes that plasma treatment is not “the expected bullet.”

“Let no one think that when they enter a hospital they can be given something and it will pass immediately,” noted the doctor.
