Associate Prof. Dr. Atanas Mangarov STAFF: BNT

I have not refused to do a test, if they give me a prescription, I will do it. This was stated in the BNT morning block “The day begins” by Associate Prof. Dr. Atanas Mangarov, head of the Children’s Department of the Hospital for Infectious Diseases. He made a comment about the fact that BNT host Georgi Lyubenov turned out to have a coronavirus, and a few days ago associate professor Mangarov was invited to his program.

“We at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases are in contact every day with people who have symptoms, a significant part of them are infected and this means that we have to constantly test ourselves, this is absurd”, said Prof. Assoc. Mangarov.

“The fact that Mr. Lyubenov turned out to be positive, that’s because he was tested. But he has nothing, right? If he had been tested in two weeks, he would still be positive,” added Prof. Assoc. Mangarov. .

“The case reporting system is extremely manipulative because it does not report how many new people have been tested, how many of them are positive, and if this data is not presented correctly, we are only afraid,” he explained.

According to him, we will all be infected with the coronavirus, but very few get sick and show symptoms of the dangerous disease.

Regarding the new registry of reported cases of coronavirus during the last 24 hours, he said that these are only infected people and not sick.

“The tests don’t make any sense, it’s just a waste of money,” Associate Professor Mangarov said.
