Nagorno-Karabakh remains the epicenter of the military clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan, after the conflict between the two ethnic groups resumed on September 27 with renewed vigor. The two sides blame each other for the increased tensions.
Yerevan has vowed to do everything possible to protect ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh from an Azerbaijani attack, while Baku insists it is working for peace, which according to the Azerbaijani side can only be achieved if Armenian troops withdraw from the region.
