Only the documentation of the Roman remains is found in an article by Vasil Doikov in the Dunavska Pravda newspaper from April 1961. That is why the investigation of archaeologists led by Dr. Varbin Varbanov, in the two squares of 24 square meters , located on both sides of the stage of the Summer Theater, turned out to be very important to collect the image of the Roman city in this part of the fortress.
In the western square, which has been fully explored, the remains of a 3rd century Roman building have been discovered, and below it four Thracian wells (2-1 century BC-1st century).
In the second, the remains of two walls from the late Antiquity period and numerous finds were found. Among them is the wine amphora, 84 coins, a bronze foot on a chair with an application of a female figure, as well as a lead construction plumb line.
Archaeologists are studying all the layers of time, which is why among the finds are many 19th century luxury objects: British porcelain, French wine bottles, porcelain plates and cups, fine glass objects.
