A fourth patient died in Plovdiv after visiting hospitals. Family members of Stamboliyski’s Yordan Nedev said in an open letter that they also faced chaos in our healthcare system. They tried to place him at St. George’s Hospital. They waited for hours, but no places were found. They were redirected to another hospital – the Plovdiv Regional Hospital. From there, the man was also returned.

The next day, Nedev’s relatives called an ambulance again. The man was again sent to St. George, from where they were sent back to the District Hospital. However, his relatives took him to another medical institution, where, sadly, Nedev died.

FATAL DELAY: Young man with coronavirus dies after wandering in hospitals

“There was an opportunity for his rescue in the period when he returned from the District Hospital, in the 24 hours until the next day, when he was already admitted to” Ivan Rilski “, because then his condition was not so critical,” said Nikolay Nedev . son of the deceased.

“After discovering that his blood saturation was low, we spoke with the GP. She insisted that he should be admitted to the hospital,” said the deceased’s wife, Elena.

“He is in the hospital waiting. Nobody gives you information, what measures are being taken, what investigations have been done and what are the results,” he added.

He added: “No one has told us whether or not there is a coronavirus. “Once he was referred to the District Hospital, the documents they gave him included the two packages of the negative rapid tests that they gave him.”

She herself does not know what the argument was for her husband not being hospitalized.

“His death certificate lists his three illnesses and records COVID-19 in fourth place,” Elena said.
