Another 20,000 Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines will arrive in Bulgaria on January 4. They will be delivered by plane to Sofia airport and from there they will begin their distribution in different areas. This was said on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria” by Associate State Health Inspection Chief Prof. Angel Kunchev. He added that in the coming months our country will receive between 150,000 and 200,000 monthly pieces of this drug.
“Moderna’s vaccine follows in the footsteps of Pfizer. The exact quantities of supplies will be clear when it is authorized for use in the European Union. After that, several more vaccines will probably be approved,” said Associate Professor Kunchev.
Less dead and again very cured of COVID-19
“It will not be easy to manage the delivery process for so many vaccines, but this will allow people to choose which vaccine to receive,” said Associate Professor Kunchev.
He stressed that a massive information campaign on immunization has not yet started, as there are still not enough vaccines available for mass use.
According to experts, the beginning of the end of the pandemic will occur when the number of vaccinated in our country reaches 2 million. Associate Professor Kunchev insists this will happen in the summer of 2021, if people still want to get immunized. “It is the only way to deal with this evil,” said the expert.
The government has allocated another 125 million BGN for vaccines against COVID-19
On the issue of easing the measures, Associate Professor Kunchev said that before this happens, a full analysis of the situation should be prepared in the first weeks of the current partial lockdown. The expert insists that shopping centers remain closed not to prevent people from making purchases, but because they are places for social contacts.
