Today the second shipment of vaccines arrived
The Minister of Health, Prof. Kostadin Angelov, predicts the start of mass vaccination in February or March.
“It will begin when we have more vaccines, that is, in February, March. Mass vaccination will begin with the elderly,” the Minister of Health explained in a briefing on Monday. It was clear that by January 1 side effects of Mild to moderate in four of those vaccinated so far, expressed in pain, dizziness and fever.
“No later than January 6, we will receive an opinion from the European regulator on the Moderna vaccine and the start of its distribution in the EU countries. Everything that is written in the vaccination plan will happen. We are also awaiting a permit for a third vaccine, “Angelov added.

According to him, an organization is currently underway to transport the new batch of vaccines to 5 points in the country. “After completing the logistics to these 5 points, we began the distribution of vaccines in the other RHIs, so that we can continue with the vaccination of all first-line doctors. We expect to complete the first phase of vaccination in 2 weeks. After that, we will immediately start vaccinating people in nursing homes and teachers, “Angelov explained.
When asked when the measures can be expected to relax, Professor Angelov replied as follows: “I am cautious about the forecasts. When I say something, the virus refutes us. We follow each issue with concern. When we have a number, we make one decision or another. Our decisions are based only on scientific evidence ”, the Minister of Health is categorical.
The second batch of vaccines, which arrived in Bulgaria on Monday, will be transported on dry ice and then placed in a -70 degree freezer. Once removed from the freezer, the vaccines will be placed in a cooler bag or refrigerator and should be used within 5 days.
