One day after the GERB youth union demanded the resignation of the BSP deputy, Professor Ivo Hristov, in an interview using the term “childish” for the Bulgarian population, the GERB parliamentary group said it would refer the matter to the ethics committee of the National Assembly.
According to Toma Bikov of GERB, this is a dismissive attitude from a deputy who three years ago called 80% of Bulgarians idiots. He accused the BSP of arrogance and a totalitarian ideological instinct, since the socialists only considered those who voted for them indecent and not childish, but that was also the reason why they lost the elections for ten years.
GERB asked BSP to comment on the statement, as it was otherwise a double standard.
In response, Dragomir Stoynev of the BSP quoted a statement by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, in which he said that when he was surrounded by drummers, you couldn’t make reforms or politics.
“Are they idiots who can’t make reforms? How would they react when the speaker of parliament is a simple pigeon from Kardzhali? That’s what the prime minister said,” said Dragomir Stoynev, probably referring to a recording in which he called the voice of the prime minister. Tsveta Karayancheva in an obscene way. The meeting chairman, Emil Hristov from GERB, stopped his microphone.
According to the BSP, Ivo Hristov’s statement has been taken out of context and instead of addressing it, parliament should make reforms.
Earlier today, the parliament rejected a BSP request in the plenary hall for the purchase of fighter jets to hear Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov.
