Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is the first political leader to vote, an hour after Election Day.
He did it at 8 in the morning at the Hristo Smirnenski school in Bankya. Everything was broadcast live, without the vote itself, on his Facebook page. There were no journalists and the GERB never announced when the prime minister will exercise his right to vote.
Citizens noted that Borisov’s publicist Sevda Arnaudova could apparently take pictures with her phone and broadcast live from the polling station, including people’s faces, while video surveillance during vote counting was prohibited.
“Why can Sevda (understand Sevda TV) take pictures with his phone in the section (take pictures of everyone’s faces) and I can’t take pictures of the opening of the polls and the count (no faces and no voice) ? Or is Sevda something more than the rest of us? “Angel Angelov, a defender of Democratic Bulgaria in Barcelona, asked on Facebook.
Despite the appointed day, Borissov continued to behave and speak as if the agitation with the jeep was continuing, again emphasizing the distribution of money.
He described these parliamentary elections as “the most expensive” because they cost more than 150 million BGN, according to his calculations. Almost BGN 50 million were given for automatic voting, more than BGN 50 million for vaccines and the same amount for the organization on election day.
“If someone wants us to give 150 million every few months instead of we give for pensions, to increase income, this is your right “Borissov said, apparently referring to President Rumen Radev.
Borissov said his political party had run “the most tolerant and well-intentioned election campaign” in which no one had been offended.
He wished “fair and honest elections” and success for GERB and UDF so that Bulgaria continues to be governed in a European and stable way.
Boyko Borissov also said he had received strong support from European leaders and listed several names, including prime ministers who were not from his in-laws.
“The biggest support we received on Friday from the European Commission with the millions of doses of vaccines. I thank these 19 Member States, the largest in Europe, for agreeing to provide their doses to Bulgarians.”Borisov said.
“I hope that we have fair and honest elections so that the people can fix ourselves, then we can have complaints. You cannot have a small percentage, but you want to speak on behalf of the people, and vice versa. I hope that the party mobilizes so that our GERB and UDF succeed “Borisov added.
After that, the GERB leader visited a church and lit a candle, and his live broadcast continued on his Facebook page.
