A new series is being developed in the Star Wars universe for the Disney + streaming platform.

The project is led by Leslie Hedland, one of the creators and showrunner of the well-received Russian Doll series, which is available on Netflix. Variety reports on this, citing sources familiar with the work on the series.

At the same time, no details are known about the story, except that the woman will stand at its center and that the action will unfold in “a different part of the Star Wars timeline over other projects.”

There are currently three confirmed Star Wars game series. This year is expected to be a new season of the highly acclaimed The Mandalorian with Pedro Pascal (Cinderella by Game of Thrones), which was developed by director and screenwriter Joe Favreau (Iron Man, The Lion King). Days ago, information emerged that its third season was already underway.

At the same time, a series is being prepared with Ewan McGregor to show what happens to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi between Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith and Episode 4: A New Hope.

The third officially announced production is a series for the character Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) to tell his adventures before the movie “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. Actor Stellan Skarsgard (“Chernobyl”) also recently joined this project.

As for the information about the fourth series in which Leslie Hedland will work, currently neither Disney nor herself confirm that this is an indisputable fact.

Hedland, among other things, directed several episodes of the Russian Doll series, which won 3 Emmy Awards from 11 nominations for its first season. He has also worked on shows like SMILF and Black Monday.
