For a year, 2,000 euros have been paid for each newborn child, said the Deputy Minister of Labor, Domna Mihailidou.
The total amount of the aid is 123 million euros. At the same time, property taxes for children were lowered. A non-taxable minimum of 1,000 euros was introduced for each child.
The government claims that social policy aims to help families. The opposition demands more tax incentives for young families, guaranteeing jobs for parents.
The Kyriakos Mitsotakis government promises to expand the birth rate program.
For the tenth consecutive year, the balance between births and mortality is negative.
