Upon entering the building, CEZ and Interior Ministry employees came across several computers searching for cryptocurrencies. A large amount of electricity was required to generate it, leading to the illegal connection to the grid.
“A little more than 500 are so-called ‘devices’ for digging cryptocurrencies. At the moment we have no detainees,” said Plamen Petkov, the district attorney for Slivnitsa.
The building is owned by a commercial company, according to the investigation. Owner Maria Shahin explained to NOVA that they planned to develop an essential oil business. However, the crisis forced them to look for a company to rent it out.
“A few months ago in September, we gave it to completely new people. We have seen them twice. “They are De Luxe International. They told us that they would make additives for some fuels; we shook hands, they looked completely normal,” Maria Shahin, owner of the property, told NOVA.
He also claims that they transferred the lots of electricity and water meters to the tenants. So far they have not had any problems with them. And employees in neighboring hallways say they haven’t seen workers there.
