GERB-UDF MEP Alexander Yordanov called the protesters, who have been demanding the resignation of Boyko Borissov’s government and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev for more than three months, “lumpens and simpletons”. There is no such thing. “Everything is normal in Bulgaria,” he said in a comment about the protests. “100-200 people are protesting, but let them protest. This is normal. We saw them last night in front of Bulgarian National Television. They were absolute simpletons, not protesters. And things should be called by their real names. These are lumpens.” Yordanov said, according to BNR.

The MEP called the European Parliament resolution “slander”. “The opinion of politicians is always determined by the party. The politician serves his party first, and not the state or anything else. Do not be fooled in this regard,” Yordanov explained about the behavior of MEPs.

He commented in Ruse after the UDF National Council, where the UDF will seek ideological unification with EPP member parties, and talks are already underway with GERB to unite the upcoming elections, the council said.

There are four main points in which the UDF will look for partners in the next ordinary elections. These are the membership of our country in NATO and the European Union and the adoption of the euro, the continuation of European and Atlantic integration, the increase in the income of citizens through accelerated economic growth and reforms in strategic sectors: health, justice and education, said the leader of the UDF, Rumen. Hristov.
