No politician has been invited to participate in BNT’s weekly political broadcast “Panorama” on the 100th since the beginning of the anti-government protest and the so-called Fifth Great Popular Uprising.

Thus, the possibility of the traditional and fierce siege of public television was eliminated. For five consecutive Fridays, angry protesters hissed, pressured and threw eggs at politicians and political scientists as they tried to leave the BNT building after participating in Panorama. Daniela Daritkova, head of the GERB group in parliament, and the leader of the BSP Cornelia Ninova, who were removed by the police after more than an hour of blockade, were the first to be attacked by activists from BOEC, Justice for All and Bulgaria Democratic. Similarly, the Minister of Social Affairs Denitsa Sacheva and the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov had to leave. After a verbal confrontation with protesters, a police car pulled out GERB MEP Andrey Novakov last week before political scientist Stoycho Stoychev was shot with eggs.

“Panorama” is a dialogue and will continue to be so, the eggs are not an argument at all and no one deserves to be humiliated, the presenter Boyko Vassilev reacted to the attacks. And he came out with a counterattack: he invited one of the protest organizers, Arman Babikyan, of the “poisonous trio,” to the studio on October 15. Among the other commentators are political scientists Dimitar Ganev and Parvan Simeonov, associate professor Naum Kaichev, and Lyuben Dilov-son.

The organizers of the Fifth Great Uprising of the People promised a “nasty surprise” for the rulers. Students who protested in front of the University of Sofia earlier in the week joined the event.
