A small earthquake was recorded near the village of Osenovo in the Blagoevgrad district.
This is indicated by a reference on the website of the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography (NIGGG) of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).
The earthquake was registered at 06:08 this morning. According to initial data, it had a magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale and a depth of 1.3 km.
BLIC recalls that on Wednesday a series of earthquakes shook neighboring Greece, some of which were felt in several Bulgarian cities. The first earthquake was since magnitude 6 on the Richter scale and had increased at 12:16 at a distance of 24 km northwest of Larissa and 21 km of Elasona.
The earthquake destroyed at least 30 houses and six people were buried under the rubble. However, they have already been saved.
The earthquake also damaged homes and schools in Damascus. As stated by the governor of Thessaly, Costas Agorastos, “with the help of the army, tents will be set up in the Damasiou stadium for people whose houses have been damaged.”
Secondary earthquakes are dozens according to the seismologist Petya Trifonova. According to her, some of them have a magnitude greater than 5 on the Richter scale..
