By order of the Attorney General, prosecutors were contacted in relation to the confessions of the convicted person of murder that Mikhail Leshtarski issued on NOVA. On the show “No Man’s Land,” he claims to have taken the lives of two other women. This happened before the 2009 crime, for which he is serving a life sentence.

The Supreme Cassation Prosecutor’s Office will re-analyze all the evidence gathered and will look for new ones.

In 2009, one of the most heinous murders took place. On September 29, a court in Sofia found Mihail Leshtarski guilty of Elena Tomova’s death.

“It’s my fault, I’ve been in prison since I was a child. If I had been incarcerated earlier, Elena would be alive now,” Leshtarski said. When asked if there were other murders behind him, he admitted. “I have. When I get drunk, I don’t know what I’m doing,” Leshtarski said.

On the show, the man sentenced to life in prison without parole claims to have committed other murders. According to the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, the accusation and sentence cannot be based solely on the defendant’s self-confession, since the confession does not release the relevant bodies from the obligation to collect new evidence, ”explained Siika Mileva, spokesperson for the Attorney General.

“The first is in Tsarevets. In 1999. I got drunk and hit a woman without doing anything,” admitted Leshtarski.

In this sense, the Supreme Administrative Court will verify if cases have been initiated for the assumptions in the transfer and at what stage they are. If, in the course of the inspections, it is found that there are pre-trial proceedings completed or suspended against an unknown author, an assessment will be made for their resumption, ”explained Siika Mileva.

Leshtarski also admitted to another murder. “What a fight! I finally strangled her and left her on the grass. And the doctor wrote that she died of heart failure,” he said.

“If sufficient evidence of Leshtarski’s authorship and guilt is gathered, new charges will be brought at the discretion of the supervising prosecutors.
