According to the BSP, the change is wild African lobbying and turning Bulgarians into slaves amid talks in European countries during a 4-day work week. GERB and MRF accused the socialists of populist interpretations and intimidation of the people.
The Speaker of Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva from GERB, explained as an engineer who worked in production that production must be ready on a certain day and sometimes defects have to be removed and overtime required. In these cases, there should be a regulated possibility of more overtime.
According to the chairman of the parliament’s social commission, Hassan Ademov of the MRF, the problem is not with overtime, but with the fact that the salary is low. BSP deputy Violeta Jeleva believes that the total calculation of working hours allows not to pay overtime at all.
Employees will be able to use paid annual leave after 4 months of service instead of after 8 months, as is the case today.
