Shortly before Christmas, an 84-year-old man entered the vascular surgery room, having prepared the necessary amount for the treatment. Money and personal belongings were described in a protocol, as required by the internal regulations of the department.
After the operation, the patient’s condition deteriorated dramatically and a second intervention was required, during which the money was stolen.
A doctor in the ward reported the theft. During the course of the work, the entire guard team was questioned and video recordings were seized documenting the woman’s actions. After the arrest, he also confessed the mechanism by which he committed the act, and the money was returned.
A reference in the archives of the Ministry of the Interior shows that the detainee was criminally exposed to theft and the events were committed in 2004 and 2013. In both cases employees of the OD of the Ministry of the Interior worked in Plovdiv.
