The buses that arrived in Kardzhali from Turkey on Election Day are few and far between. The main reason is the requirement for a negative PCR test to enter Bulgaria and a complete blockade in our southeast neighbor.

According to dispatchers at the Kardzhali bus station, only one regular bus arrived in the city on Sunday at 6:20 a.m. M. There were about 15 passengers in it. Several other buses from Turkey have passed through Kardzhali. The passengers in them are mostly retirees who traditionally return to their homeland at that time to spend the summer in Bulgaria.

Due to the pandemic, there are almost no travelers between Bulgaria and Turkey. The buses take one or two courses a day. For comparison, before the coronavirus, the regular lines from Kardzhali to various Turkish cities were 18. Currently, most of the buses stop at the Rhodope city bus station.
