Due to the lack of ambulances in Burgas, patients are discharged in the dark. A video filmed in the Roma neighborhood of the city shows that there is no doctor in the ambulance, only a driver. The images caused a wave of outrage on social media, reports Bulgaria On Air.
Rafie, 72, from Burgas “Victory” district, was discharged in the dark from the COVID ward of Burgas State Hospital. In the neighborhood of Roma, they say that he has difficulties moving and that he has not been cured.
“At eight thirty, the woman was left behind, neither doctor nor nurse, she was just the driver,” said her neighbor Bina Boycheva.
The hospital explained that Rafie received treatment for 9 days and was discharged after doctors decided that therapy could continue at home. COVID wards are overcrowded and patients are discharged as soon as their condition improves.
This happens at any time of the day when an ambulance is released.
“This is the car that drives the coronavirus, if this woman is discharged from somewhere, they call and we pick her up and bring her back. We do our job, no one can blame us for that or that the healing process is not complete, ”said the deputy. the director of CSMP-Burgas Dr. Dimitar Zhelyazkov.
Rafie’s neighbors urge RHI to disinfect their home. She was discharged without a negative PCR test and is subject to quarantine.
