A record number of people infected with coronavirus have been hospitalized since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Unified Information Portal (see graphic). It is about 912 people, 54 of whom are in intensive care units.
14,984 of the disease were cured, 45 of them in the last 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, 182 new cases were detected in 2,843 tests. Most of the new cases are registered in Sofia (59). Followed by Plovdiv (20) and Targovishte (15)
The total number of infected so far is 21,518, with 569 active cases, there are three deaths infected by the virus.
Meanwhile, the epidemiologist at the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases Savina Stoitsova told BTV that Bulgaria ranks 25th in Europe in terms of the number of people infected per 100,000. The national average is 37 per 100,000, but there are areas where the virus is 60 per 100,000.
According to Stoitsova, how the infection will develop depends on how anti-epidemic measures are observed. It is also important to her if there will be “super dealer” events in the country, where many people gather in tight spaces.
For the epidemiologist, the regulation on the use of masks currently makes sense and the measures in schools are correct.
