A police chief died of a coronavirus

The deputy director of the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Haskovo, Commissioner Georgi Behov, was a victim of the coronavirus. He died this morning, Haskovo hospital confirmed to Haskovo.net.

The 50-year-old man was diagnosed with coronavirus on Thursday with a PCR test. The next day he was hospitalized at Haskovo Pulmonary Hospital. He had a fever, respiratory failure, hypertension, overweight. However, his condition has drastically deteriorated and treatment for COVID-19 has not helped to improve it, the head of the medical institution, Dr. Veselin Kalfov, explained to Haskovo.net.

Last night, Commissioner Behov was transferred to the OAIL of Haskovo Hospital in critical condition, where he passed away this morning.

Commissioner Georgi Behov’s career began in the “Economic Police” – Dimitrovgrad. Since 2014, he leads a group in the Economic Crime Fighting Sector in ODMI-Haskovo.
