The only Bulgarian winner of the “Golden Ball” – Hristo Stoichkov, received great recognition from the Italian soccer legend Gianluigi Buffon. The great Juventus goalkeeper placed Kama among the 11 ideals he has played with and is recognized as the best. In 1995 Hristo Stoichkov and Gigi Buffon played for the same team when Kama transferred to Italian Parma after being transferred from Barcelona.
It was then that Buffon made his debut as a footballer and had the honor of partnering with the former Catalan grandson star who had won the Ballon d’Or just a year earlier. In 1996 Stoichkov left Parma to return to the Camp Nou, while Gigi remained in Parma until 2001 before signing with Juventus.
Despite the short period in which they played together and the time that has passed since then, Buffon did not forget the qualities of the Bulgarian and put him in his attack, associating with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Here are the 11 Buffon ideals:
Goalie Buffon
Defenders Lillian Thuram, Fabio Canavaro, Paolo Maldini, Gianluca Zambrot
Halfbacks: Alessandro del Piero, Andrea Pirlo, Pavel Nedved
Game creator: Francesco Totti
Ahead: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Hristo Stoichkov.
