Beijing authorities have announced that they are tightening measures to counter coronavirus infection due to the emergence of new cases of infection and the danger of an outbreak of the disease, BNT reported.
The capital’s authorities intend to apply “faster and more effective methods to prevent the spread of the epidemic.” According to statistics, fewer than 40 cases of infection have been recorded in Beijing since November, all of which were imported. However, in recent days the situation has changed.
On December 23, for the first time in the last four and a half months, asymptomatic carriers infected by the virus were registered in the country. From December 25 to 27, the government announced 9 new cases of infection in the capital and there are currently 10 locals infected with coronavirus in Beijing hospitals.
