They clarified that the new confirmed case is a patient who is in serious condition. In addition, 17 new asymptomatic carriers of the virus were found in Hubei province during the last day, and one case was reclassified as confirmed.
The Chinese authorities do not include in the general statistics asymptomatic carriers in which nucleic acid tests are positive but have no symptoms. They are retrained only when they show symptoms. It is not specified whether the new case in Wuhan was an asymptomatic carrier who started showing symptoms of the disease, but it is reported that across the province there is currently only one confirmed case, the patient is in Wuhan.
Currently, 616 asymptomatic carriers of the virus remain under medical supervision throughout Hubei.
During the epidemic in Hubei, 68,129 cases of infection were recorded (50,334 in Wuhan), 63,616 recovered (46,464), and 4,512 died (3,869 in Wuhan).
