Wandering signal for days between hospitals of a man with severe pneumonia, but a negative test for COVID-19. Their relatives reported that they had been visiting medical institutions for more than a week and had been denied admission for treatment. After days of torment, the man was finally admitted to a hospital in Sofia, Nova TV reports.
“The first symptoms a person receives on October 29. After two days he worsens and he cannot get out of bed. My friend tried to contact the GP, but failed and called an ambulance. They come and examine him. the person, but they say that at this stage it is not for hospitalization and treatment with antibiotics should be started, ”said Galya Simeonova, who is close to the patient’s family and with them sought hospital care for him.
The man’s relatives do not have the opportunity to be tested for the coronavirus. The family began treating the patient with antibiotics. A day later, no improvement was noticed and family members called a second ambulance. Doctors did an antigen test, which came back negative.
“The doctor hears a finding in the lungs and says that the person must be examined in a hospital, but that he will not be transferred by ambulance because there is no difficulty in breathing.” They go to ISUL, which is the closest hospital. The man was barely standing. On October 30, he had an X-ray showing bilateral pneumonia. One of the indicators of the blood image is 21,147 with a reference value of 500. ISUL doctors say there is a suspicion of a blood clot, ”explained Galya Simeonova.
The family visits more than 7 hospitals in the capital, which confirm that the man is for hospitalization, but they do not accept him because they do not have places. The emergency center of the District Hospital accepts the man, who turns on after 6 hours of waiting.
There the doctor says that in other conditions, the person should have been hospitalized immediately because he is in an extremely serious condition. The District Hospital also says there are no places, so the man was transferred to Tokuda, after consulting with a nearby pulmonologist. However, from there they were returned to the District Hospital. After further tests, they report that there are no changes in the condition and send him home again. On November 5, through an acquaintance, they went back to ISUL, where they categorically stated that the man should be hospitalized, but there were no places. “They went to SofiaMed, and it was a terrible nightmare in Pirogov: they were forced to stay outside with a hundred people,” Galya Simeonova said.
Finally, the family goes to the coordination center. There they are told that the only solution is to do a PCR test and then wait. Through acquaintances, the family contacted a doctor from Hagia Sophia, who did everything possible to get the man into the hospital, 10 days after visiting the hospitals.
