The repeat offender shot police officers from hiding
A 28-year-old repeat offender from Omurtag shot police officers who searched his home to land him in prison and obtain an effective sentence.
The man hid from justice in a special secret he made at home. He made a movable wall behind the couch, and behind it a bunker hole that he would hide in when they came looking for him. On Friday, the uniformed men approached them and began looking for him. They suspected a crack behind the sofa in the living room. The wanted man was hiding there. Sensing that he had been smelled, he began firing a gas signal pistol in an attempt to escape. Despite resistance, he was arrested and taken to prison. Drugs were also found in his home. He was sentenced to 5 years for hitting and driving after using drugs while depriving him of the right to drive a car. His sentence takes effect on March 9.
The Targovishte District Prosecutor’s Office launched a new investigation against him for concealment, resistance and drugs.
