A BMW with a Burgas license plate and a 20-year-old at the wheel crashed on the opposite side of the Fair Bridge in Plovdiv and collided with a Renault minibus from the side. There were two men on the bus, one of whom was taken by ambulance to a hospital with broken ribs. The cause of the accident was drift, Flagman said.
Influenced by adrenaline, a 20-year-old BMW driver with a Burgas license plate “burned” tires on Tsar Boris III Obedinitel Blvd.
“It’s good that he hit a two-ton truck and did not hit people on the sidewalk,” explained the injured man from the crashed truck. According to him, the young driver at the wheel of the BMW was not particularly suitable because he apologized to the police for having gone in the opposite direction because he had confused the pedals.
“I don’t know which normal driver will confuse the pedals?” Asks the injured rhetorically. He explained that at the scene of the accident, minutes later, he asked the police to do a drug test on the guilty driver, but they refused. “I called my attorney and he explained that the field drug tests were conducted at the discretion of the officials. He advised me to call 112 to record a call in which the officials had refused to conduct a drug test on a driver that he had caused a car accident. That’s what I did, “the victim told Monitor.
At the hospital they told him that he had broken his ribs, but he preferred to be treated at home.
“The driver at fault in the Fair Bridge injury accident (with a BMW car) is currently on a drug field test. He will be punished with an act with two points: for the accident itself and for a sudden lane change, “said the head of the DO of the Interior Ministry in Plovdiv, Senior Commissioner Yordan Rogachev, quoted by his colleagues from the Monitor newspaper.
The BMW’s at-fault driver’s tests for alcohol and drugs came back negative, it became clear later that day.
Since dawn, the key boulevards around the fair city in Plovdiv became a stage for drifting and racing between BMW, because yesterday there was a fair for fans of this car brand in Plovdiv.
“At 6 in the morning I was awakened by a terrible roar of powerful engines,” complained an old woman who lives on Bulgaria Blvd. She heard the cars spinning their tires, their powerful engines, but until she could see what was happening in the boulevard, the cars drove away.
