After accusing Boyko Borissov of having an island in Greece, a woman, a house and a child in Barcelona and closets full of euros, the creators of fake news came to accuse him of murder.

A photo of a Russian model with a Bulgarian name and a broken neck came from a Bulgarian fake news site and made its way to the media in Greece and Macedonia, writes tribune.bg.

The famous Russian woman recorded a video message to refute the fake news. The shame for the Bulgarian “media” remains.

The fake news factory of Arman Babikyan and his followers has reached a new low and sparked an ugly international scandal.

A Bulgarian fake news site has advertised a Russian top model for a murdered girl named Svetlana. The photo of the Russian woman says she was killed because she was photographing Boyko Borissov’s bedroom.

The Greek websites www.tovima.gr and www.pentapostagma.gr published the information from the Bulgarian website that the woman in question was found dead on the island of Santorini. The woman’s name is said to be Svetlana Ivanova.

“She is from Plovdiv and was found with a broken neck on July 20, 2020 in one of the most expensive and visited Greek resorts,” the media said. The North Macedonian media, including www.vecer.mk, published information with the same content.

The main source of this “news” is the fake news site istinskitenovini.bg. On September 1, this site was the first to post the news, reading “Bomb: This is the woman who photographed Boyko’s closet!” Found dead in Greece “(spelling and punctuation preserved”), sparking an international information scandal.

The woman whose photo was turned around in the media in three foreign countries is called Oktyabrina Maksimova and she is one of the most popular models in Russia.

The information that she was “murdered in Santorini” reached her and the Russian woman reacted with a series of posts on her Instagram account, in which she explained that she was alive and well and that she was involved in an ugly story with fake news.

“I was so shocked that I didn’t even have the strength to record a rebuttal video,” Oktyabrina wrote in a screenshot of the Bulgarian website, which says her body was found in Greece.
