Prof. Vasil Georgiev Anastasov
Professor Vasil Georgiev Anastasov, one of the Plovdiv medical authorities, died after a complication from a coronavirus. He died at the age of 76, his colleagues said.
The funeral will be on Monday at 12:30 in the Karlovo mourning park.
Professor Anastasov is originally from the city of Levski and is considered a leading specialist in vascular surgery and angiology. His scientific achievements are world renowned.
The doctor was unable to fight the virus. He worked to the end before becoming infected. He was awarded “Doctor of the Year” 11 years ago and his scientific works exceed 180 in specialized Bulgarian and foreign publications.
