A driver chases a pedestrian on the sidewalk with his car to hit him because …

Action in Sofia. The action takes place at one of the busiest intersections in Sofia’s Slatina district at Geo Milev Blvd. and Slatina Blvd.

As they crossed the sidewalk, one of the cars waiting at the traffic light had stopped right on the sidewalk, forcing pedestrians around it, entering the lane. This was stated by a witness to the incident in front of Nova TV.

In protest, one of the pedestrians picked up the front windshield wiper of the car in question and passed. I was surprised to see the car run a red light to the cars waiting in the right lane and turn right to get in and out of the curb. His goal was to catch up with the protesting pedestrian and confront him.

Thank goodness, after the driver exchanged words with the pedestrian, there was no physical altercation. To be sure, however, it violated many traffic law rules and certainly had the potential danger of endangering the life of a pedestrian. Soon after, on the next trail, at the same intersection, at a green pedestrian light, a bus took the lead from me and stopped in front of me on the trail.

If there were cameras at this intersection, where violations are often committed, would these inappropriate drivers no longer comply with traffic rules?
