Chocolate products maker Nestlé Bulgaria has invested another BGN 23 million in the Sofia factory in a modern robotic production line for product packaging and explained how this affects production facilities and jobs. The company also received a class “A” certificate for investments from the Bulgarian Investment Agency (IBA).
“The new robotic production line will allow production in the factory to be faster and more efficient. We will also be able to provide a safer and more ergonomic work environment for employees and the opportunity to train them to work with automated machines. We have invested in the new production line to modernize the technology and to be able to produce even more innovative chocolate bars. Official guests had the opportunity to virtually see the factory and observe the operation of the new robotic line, which is to pack and cover the process of packaging a product in a single package and then placing it in a box or multipack. The innovation goes a long way towards the efficient production of 2.5 million KitKat bars a day at Nestlé’s chocolate factory in Sofia.
“The company is thinking about both society and the environment and is becoming more and more productive. We must be positive, have unanimity to achieve the big goals: this is the strategy not only of Nestlé, but also of the Bulgarian government. We are currently registering a 4.3% growth in the structure of gross domestic product for the third quarter compared to the second. The factory employs 571 employees with an average professional experience of 14 years. It produces 16,000 tons or 470 million consumption units of the product per year. All products are made with 100% Bulgarian flour from Bulgarian producers. Products are exported to 35 other markets around the world, including South Korea, Singapore, Mexico, Qatar, South Africa, and the Caribbean.
