The Bulgarian is the new ruler of online poker around the world. On Saturday night against Sunday, Stoyan Madanzhiev won the main event of this year’s World Online Series.
The tournament had a record prize fund, of which the Bulgarian card player won the biggest pie – $ 3,904,685! Until now in the history of online poker, no player has won a similar amount.
In total, about 6,000 participants participated in the competition, fighting for a record $ 27,559,500. 38 of them reached the last phase, including Madanzhiev. This was the third round, which took place 6 days after the second.
The last in the game were our boy and Chinese Wenlin Gao. Madanjiev managed to face the Asian and triumphed in the tournament.
Gao came in second with $ 2,748,605.
With a profit of 3,904,685, Madanzhiev multiplied his investment almost 800 times by 5,000 to participate in the race.
The Bulgarian was not among the favorites before the tournament and his victory came as a spectacular surprise.
Before this competition, Madanzhiev’s total winnings from online poker were modest compared to $ 4 million from $ 32,500.
