A Bulgarian from Chicago has been nominated as businessman of the year. Mihail Mihailov is the owner of one of the most successful companies abroad and has reached the final of prestigious local business awards.
Mikhail Mihailov’s path to success began in Germany. He lived in Munich for 8 years before winning a green card and moving to the United States. He first lived in Mississippi, but moved to Chicago.
“I was first invited to run a small trucking company that had its own trucks. I decided there is a lot of room for improvement and more digitization. I literally worked 24 hours a day, every day of the week. That was my fuel. nothing else in my life, “Mihail Mihailov told Nova TV.
So he decided to start his own automotive logistics business in the United States. His idea evolved over time until it reached its current version – it already operates internationally, with four offices – in Chicago, Bulgaria and Macedonia.
“Now, in 2020, we have also started to transport motorcycles, boats and what here is called heavy transport – heavy machinery,” says Mihailov.
The nomination for “Entrepreneur of the Year” surprises him.
“I was very pleasantly surprised. I do not know the person who nominated me. As far as I understand, this is a banker who is in the Chicago area. If I win one of the categories in the final of the intermediate states, I will continue in the race national, ”he explains, and refuses to take full responsibility for its success.
“The main thing is the people who support me and with whom we can build this company together,” he explains.
For those who are just embarking on the thorny road to success, he says:
“They have to have faith, firm faith. And they have to be positive. If you don’t smile and if it’s not positive, things don’t work out or it’s very difficult to do it,” Mihail Mihailov said.
