The young man was traveling in a BMW car, which crashed into a tree around 4:20 this morning, shortly after leaving the road on Bulgaria Street in the city of Saedinenie.
The 37-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital and his life is in danger. The most likely cause of the accident is driving while intoxicated. A team from RU Trud is working on the case.
BLIC learned from its sources that the victim was Martin Ivanov Karabelov. The boy is the son of the infamous Saedinenie businessman Ivan Karabelov, who was convicted and is in prison for the murder of Plovdiv customs officer Georgi Drebchev.

The contract shooting took place in 1999 and was listed in the cold files column due to the lack of perpetrator guarantors.
However, a few years ago, the prosecution announced that it had revealed who was behind the court order. The state prosecutor’s office named Bozhidar Atanasov of Plovdiv, who received a life sentence, as the killer. The sentence was subsequently reduced to 20 years.
According to investigators, the former mayor of Saedinenie, Evgeni Marincheshki, made the order to Bozhidar Atanasov and Ivan Karabelov mediated and assisted.
Many drugs were involved in the scheme, the customs officer Drebchev ensured the safe passage of the goods. The murder occurred when Marincheshki suspected that Grebchev was misappropriating some of the drugs. Ivan Karabelov received 15.6 years in prison for his participation in the criminal scheme.
