A 33-year-old man with coronavirus died on Friday after waiting hours for an ambulance in Sofia, bTV reported.
The man was in home treatment, but his condition is deteriorating. His relatives call an ambulance around 18:30 hours. They wait hours, but she doesn’t come.
Then they call a private ambulance. From there they are told that they need to find a place in a hospital and they will transport the patient.
The ambulance arrives 22:30 hours to verify the death of the young man.
The Sofia Emergency Service commented that unfortunately this has been going on for weeks.
“The last work shift had 418 calls, 200 of which were signs of coronavirus. After each of those directions, the ambulance was removed and disinfected in 50-60 minutes. It is absolutely impossible to drive.”Katya Sungarska, spokeswoman for the Emergency Service in Sofia, told bTV.
According to her, the signal for this case was received in 18:41 hours, and the ambulance arrives at 22:23 hmore.
The Ministry of Health is launching an investigation into the case.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Bulgaria, the number of doctors infected with coronavirus is 832 and that of nurses, 748. A total of 2268 doctors have been infected with Covod-19 From March until now, the data from the Unified Information Portal is displayed.
