The search for survivors continues
Turkish rescuers pulled a three-year-old boy out of the rubble of a destroyed building today, the Anatolian Agency reported. Rescue operations in Turkey have lasted more than 65 hours since the October 30 earthquake in the western Izmir province.

The death toll from the earthquake has risen to 79, Turkey’s Ministry of Emergency Management said today.

“79 of our citizens were killed. 743 of the 962 injured were discharged, the treatment of 219 people in hospitals continues,” the statement said.
