Two men died of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours in the Veliko Tarnovo district. One is only 24 years old. He died in Gorna Oryahovitsa hospital. The second died at the age of 71, RHI-Veliko Tarnovo reported.
4,390 new people infected with COVID-19 and 80 died in one day
The 24-year-old patient from the village of Kamen was admitted to the Gorna Oryahovitsa Emergency Room on November 6 with complaints: helplessness, general fatigue, mild dry cough and shortness of breath.
A chest X-ray was performed, which showed a picture of severe bilateral bronchopneumonia, type COVID-19. An electrocardiogram and blood tests were performed, and the doctor on call referred the patient for hospitalization. The patient was admitted to the COVID ward, where he was monitored, tested by PCR and immediately began the appropriate treatment according to the protocol: oxygen supply, anticoagulant therapy, broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy, corticosteroids, and symptomatic therapy.
Prior to hospital admission, the patient was treated at home for 10 days with Azax 500 mg, Erdomed, paracetamol and vitamins prescribed by his personal physician. He was also obese.
Due to deterioration of clinical and laboratory parameters, the patient was transferred to the intensive care unit, where he remained intubated for two days. Despite the efforts of the medical teams, the patient died at 5:20 a.m. on November 9.
The incidence in the district is 271.3 per 100,000 inhabitants. During the last 24 hours, 41 new laboratory confirmed cases were registered.

There are many infected teachers. In quarantine for 10 days are the students and teachers of the classes who have been in contact with teachers who gave positive results in the COVID tests. They are at the University of Sofia “Bacho Kiro” in Pavlikeni (1 professor); Sofia University “Ivan Momchilov” (1 professor) and DG “Radost” (1 professor) in Elena; DG “Zdravets” (1 teacher) and DG “Evgenia Kisimova” (1 teacher), Veliko Tarnovo.
The RHI – Veliko Tarnovo has ordered the relevant measures against the epidemic: cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces and premises of school buildings and kindergartens; transition from classroom training to e-learning for students in quarantine, etc.
At 00:00 hours on November 11 in the territory of the Veliko Tarnovo district, a total of 1305 people were diagnosed with COVID -19, of which:
– cured: 619 people,
– in home isolation: 514 people,
– hospitalized: 133 people,
– died: 39 people.
People in quarantine: 1,025, including close contacts of confirmed COVID – 19 cases.
