Hello Philip. When did you discover Lester’s interest in you and how did you feel?
– I discovered the Sunday material from the Daily Mail. Naturally, I am flattered by the news and it definitely makes me happy. My dream is to play in one of the 5 best European championships. However, I must say that I do not know if there is anything official on this matter. So let’s not rush.
– 4.5 million pounds sound like fireworks. What does an 18-year-old boy think of such a quantity that it is definitely terrifying by Bulgarian football standards at the moment?
– Yes, it is true, especially in a situation where there are no Bulgarians to play in the great European championships. In recent years, soccer pitchers would say crazy money. After the coronavirus pandemic has passed, I hope this changes significantly.
The price of a footballer cannot reach that size. We are athletes after all. Today with this disease, it is visible how much more valuable other people are.
Otherwise, I have nothing to say about the specific quantity. Other people have to appreciate me. My goal every day is to develop and earn the money they would pay me.
“You must have discussed the information with your family and friends. What did they tell you?
“I’m glad, but we haven’t talked about money. They know that I am a humble boy. I pursue my dreams and my friends and family support me.

– Wait, I still haven’t accomplished anything in football to make me dizzy. I really consider myself an earthly man. I love the game and the most important thing for me is soccer itself. That is why I try to do my best in training. I know this is the only way I love to achieve my dreams.
“How do you imagine a Leicester-based date with Jamie Wardie?”
“That would be an interesting incident. I have always admired his journey from the lowest levels of football to the highest. All the shakes that happened to reach the champion of England and the national team. My dream is to meet and play with players who have accomplished so much in their careers.
“Will you be surprised to see it?”
“There is no one to shy away from when I see him.
– Do you have an agent or does Slavia move things around you?
I have no agent. I fully trust Slavia’s leadership. This is my home club. I have been on it since I was 7 years old. So my whole conscious life, although I don’t know what that sounds like at my age, is related to this team. I am sure Slavia will make the best decision for me at the right time.
– Maybe this is the time to say a few words about how you started with soccer and about your development in Slavia.
– I came to Slavia in the spring of 2009. Otherwise, I have been chasing the ball since I was 3 years old. I liked football more and more and at one point I knew it was my thing and I wanted to deal with it. I asked my parents to sign me up. We live in Ovcha Kupel and Slavia was the closest. It was also known that the school there was the best. Over time, I saw that not only was quality work done, but because of President Wenceslas Stefanov’s policies, boys had a great opportunity in men’s soccer.
“If you had a choice, would you go to England or somewhere else?”
– I really want to go to Germany. I think I can do well in the Bundesliga game. I definitely like it. Otherwise, as the most attractive to watch, I can identify matches in England.
– Where do you feel best in the field?
– I would say everywhere in the middle of the field. I play as an offensive midfielder, but I also enjoy acting as a supporter. I really feel good everywhere.
– What do you think is the maxim that the sooner a soccer player goes abroad, the better?
– I think it’s right. In this way, you will face a lot of competition before. You will train at a different level in each aspect. You’ll be able to configure your watch so you know what to focus on so it’s not too late. However, I think that at a later stage you can make a successful trip abroad. It is very important that you come to the right place for you. At this time I strive to continue my development and that is why I seek to train hard.
– How do you manage to maintain your quarantine form?
– I can say that I am in good shape because I work a lot at home. I work with my own weight, I do tummy presses, push-ups and dials. I have elastic bands with which I do different exercises. I also make stabilizers. I go out and run outside. However, I definitely miss training with the team.
Otherwise, quarantine is surprisingly fast for me. In addition to the training, I am learning about the post-12th grade students that I have not yet completed. There is not much free time.
– How do you combine education and soccer and do you plan to continue with the first and the future?
– At one point, there are a lot of problems when you train and study. Our educational system is not to facilitate you in such a situation. That is why soccer players often choose between the two. Personally, I try to learn as much as possible. Therefore, one must develop a lifetime. I am focusing on soccer right now and have not yet made any specific plans for the next step in education. However, my wish is to continue studying.
– And so that the end returns to the beginning, how does Philip Krastev sound more expensive than Stoichkov, Gonzo and Berbatov?
– It will be unique in some way to be classified with such legendary names in Bulgarian football. At the time, there were no current bomb transfer amounts, but they were paid significant amounts.
But there is something else for me. And to get to this eventual transfer to Leicester or, say, to another place abroad, the most important thing is what will happen next, what I will do. There are examples of guys who go abroad but then go home.
