Christian Nikolov will not appeal his second instance arrest and remains voluntarily behind bars.

“This is an indication that it will help the investigation clarify the whole truth,” his lawyer Lyubomir Takov told 24 Hours.

A 22-year-old student was accused of intentionally killing journalist Milen Tsvetkov after colliding with his car in a presenter’s car at Easter.

Last Wednesday, the Sofia City Court refused to release Christian, whose investigation revealed he was behind the wheel after using four types of drugs: amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, and bromazepam. Despite numerous testimonies of the first arrest measure, his lawyer claimed that there was no evidence that Christian was driving the jeep.

On Friday, Christian’s mother’s advocate Konstantin Simeonov told BTV that one of his colleagues, Georgi Ivanov, son of MP GERB Lachezar Ivanov, testified that Christian was driving the jeep. Georgi Ivanov blamed the investigators for the pressure, but they declined categorically. According to lawyer Simeonov, the route of the jeep’s movement before the accident was clarified. According to him, the car ticket was not on the boy. The audit is owned by the company of mother Desislava Pesheva. Because her son was behind the wheel on a fatal day, prosecutors ordered a check from the Economic Police to make sure the car was purchased and who was using it. There are no criminal proceedings for this yet. Eyewitnesses to the incident and ownership of the car were among the reasons why trial judge Mina Mumdjieva of the trial court left Christian Nikolov in custody.

The court cited the testimony of several witnesses. One of them, Denislav Bodichev, described in detail the wounds on Tsvetkov’s body and said that the journalist was wearing a belt. In his car, after the impact, an eerbe was activated.

According to the magistrates, Nikolov was aware of the risk he was taking after taking the drug.

In addition to Christian, her mother, Desislava, is also accused of providing the company car to her drugged son. She is released with a BGN 100,000 guarantee.

Christian Nikolov’s boyfriend – Simona Tsankova and the third person in the audit – Georgi Ivanov also received allegations. The two have been responsible for concealing the truth from the investigating officer and are on bail of $ 5,000 each.
